Training with Debbie McDonald Hassler Dressage is proud to be hosting a special educational weekend with Olympian Debbie McDonald. We will present this fantastic two day event Saturday and Sunday, Debbie McDonald has represented the United States proudly as Olympian and top equestrian athlete. She is perhaps known best for her tremendous partnership with Brentina, the beloved Hanoverian mare who Debbie trained and competed with such success. Together, they garnered numerous wins at the highest level. In 1999, they won Team and Individual Gold medals at the Pan Am Games In Mexico City. Debbie and Brentina earned Team Silver at Jerez (2002) and Team Bronze in Aachen (2006) at the World Championships. In 2003, Debbie became the first American to win the World Cup Championship, and in 2005 they placed third at World Cup. They were an important part of the strong US Bronze Medal winning team at the Athens Olympics in 2004. In addition, Debbie has earned titles of US Equestrian of the Year (1999) by the USEF, and Female Equestrian Athlete of the Year by the USOC. She has trained numerous horses from start to Grand Prix, and has taught and developed many successful students. In 2010, she has just been named the US Equestrian Federation’s Developing Dressage Coach, a role in which she will help identify and cultivate future dressage talents here in the US.
