Foals of 2010

4-18-10 COLT “Westbrook” aka Sully out of Doucette (Dauphin – Weltmeyer) Breeder: Dr. Peggy Minnich, Fredericksburg, VA. “Sully is smart, uphill, well balanced and lively colt.” Peggy and her vet were watching Sully at play in the paddock and “was quite impressed at how tight Sully could canter his figure 8’s with flying changes.”

4-25-10 COLT “Wessex” out of Diotima (Donnerhall – Feiner Stern) Bred by Marefield Meadows, Warrenton, VA. Wes has “the dignified poise of a much older horse. He is also quite independent.” He also has a “powerful build and good movement… There is a hard to define quality about this colt that increases his special appeal. Needless to say, Wes is a great favorite of a number of people around here.” VIDEO

5-12-10 FILLY out of Brimming (Banter – Adroit) Breeder: Don and Dee Kapper, Outer Banks Farm, Beach City, OH. Says Don “She canters around Brimming in the foaling stall, then trots and canters outside in their paddock, while Brimming is constantly trotting and trying to keep up. Wow. If she is doing this the 1st day of life, what will she be doing in 3 or 4 months?”

5-14-10 COLT “Wanna Dance” out of Horeen (Hohenstein – Lungua) Bred by Carol Barone of Stanwood, WA. Carol notes that at just hours of age, “Wilbur” is “lovely, leggy… and already bucking around the foaling stall.

6-23-10 COLT out of Rhea-Rite (Corland – Jalisco B) Bred by Kim Callaway of Ottsville, PA

6-1-09 COLT. We are overjoyed here at Hassler Dressage with the arrival of our own first foal on June 1, 2009!! He is a handsome son of Harmony’s Wamberto out of our beloved mare St.Pr.St. Primavera (Donnerhall-Pik Koenig-Frustra) who was gifted to us by our best friend Ingo and Susan Pape. The colt is Primavera’s latest embryo transfer foal…her first foal safely landing on the ground after three years of trying! We have nicknamed him Wonder Boy, given his obvious super talent and also the tremendous combined efforts of many over the years which finally resulted in his happy, safe arrival! We whole heartedly thank our dear friends at Blue Waters Farm, Linda Santomenna, Bob Alphin, and their committed team, for their excellent care of our recipient mare Jazz in the final weeks of her pregnancy through the foaling of our little boy. We further thank our dear friends at Select Breeders Service, who persisted with us these past years in the efforts to recover a healthy embryo out of Primavera!! Success, at last!! And of course we thank the team at Equine Medical Services, headed by Dr. Foss in Columbia, Missourri, for their careful handling of our treasured embryo. EVERYONE’s diligent efforts brought us to this moment! We are deeply grateful and so pleased to have WonderBoy here to love in person! He will make his homecoming to Riveredge in early July and in the meantime will remain in the excellent care of those at Blue Waters Farm. (Thankfully, we’re just around the corner!)

He was the Site Champion colt at his Oldenburg Inspection with the fantastic judges comments of: "this foal is one of the most structurally correct foals I have ever seen. Super uphill build, great balance and the best legs I have seen in a long time". His overall score was 8.6.
