Hexagon's Louisville comes from a long line of influential sires. His sire Burggraaf is widely known as one of the greatest showjumping sires of modern times, producing two international level showjumpers in his first season of breeding just a limited book of mares. At his 100 Day Test, Burggraaf earned a 9 for his character and 8.5 for jumping. burggraafHis overall jumping index was very high at 152 points. During his career as a breeding stallion, Burggraaf sired over 30 approved sons and numerable Ster and Keur mares.

Under Dutch rider Roelef Bril, Burggraaf himself easily jumped the puissance wall at Indoor Brabant in 1991 at the amazing height of 6'10"! A Preferent stallion, Burggraaf was not just a sire of jumpers. He passed excellent movement and athleticism to his offspring, qualities which lend nicely to the dressage arenas as well. In addition to Hexagon's Louisville, other notable dressage offspring are Florijn, the 1998 Grand Prix winner of the Col. Bengt Ljungquist Memorial Championship under landgraafDennis Callin and Leslie Morse's Kingston, a Voltaire x Burggraaf. Kingston was the 2005 USDF Horse of the Year and USDF Grand Prix Freestyle Horse of the Year (tied with Kennedy). On the 2005 FEI WBFSH Horses World Ranking List, Kingston ranked 8th overall.Burggraaf's sire was the "sire of the century," Landgraf I (1966 – 1996). Landgraf's list of showjumping progeny is endless, producing names like Freestyle (aka Lalique): winner of the Grand Prix at Aachen; Libero: the five time Dutch National Champion and '94 World Cup winner; Linaro: 1991 Champion Holsteiner Stallion; and Landadel: 1985 100 Day Test Champion at Medingen and a sire in his own right of top dressage and jumping offspring. Landgraf offers his impressive neck carriage, long sloping shoulder, beautiful face, strong bone and exceptional character to his grandson, Hexagon's Louisville.

On his damside, Louisville's depth of pedigree continues. Louisville's dam, Wenda, a Keur mare herself, produced several other notable offspring including Keur mare Kitty W (by Forum) who had IBOP scores of 9 for walk and 8.5 for trot,Keur mare Maddy W (by Epilot), and the approved AES stallion louisvillePablo W (by Damiro), a Z-level jumper at 1.30 meters. Wenda's sire Vesins, a KWPN approved thoroughbred, also sired the notable Dutch jumper stallion, Sebastiaan. While in the Netherlands, Sebastiaan showjumped at the 1.60 level at the Indoor Friesland, Zuidlaren, and Amsterdam CSI's. Sebastiaan was imported to the United States in 1986 by Mary Alice Malone of Iron Spring Farm. Under Mary Alice, Sebastiaan proved his versatility in sport as he moved up the levels in dressage. The pair competed through Intermediare I in Palm Beach as well as throughout the East Coast, including Devon.
