Harmony's Davidoff Hit
2002 Oldenburg Stallion 16.1 H
We are thrilled to have the young, talented Davidoff Hit in our management for performance and breeding. He is a tribute to the many outstanding individuals his pedigree represents. He is intelligent, athletic, and very gifted for collection. We believe Davidoff Hit will be a special FEI horse and look forward to continuing his development. His foals have demonstrated his powerful, elegant conformation is readily passed on along with the expressive volume of his movement. Davi is a real winner and quickly wins a fan club wherever he goes. More About Davidoff Hit In the vast open lands of former eastern Germany, Paul Schockemöhle owns thousands of acres outside a town called Lewitz. There, hundreds of young horses grow up in large herds, given freedom to run over miles of terrain and the opportunity to develop in nature. Several times a year, the skilled horsemen of the Performance Sales International (PSI) organization travel to Lewitz to select individuals to gear up for stallion licensing, mare inspections, or to start under saddle as riding horses. It is in this environment that Davidoff Hit grew up, developing a strong foundation and natural condition. PSI owned both Davidoff Hit's sire and damsire: Don Davidoff and Sandro Hit, both Gold Medalists of the World Breeding Championships for Young Horses. Don Davidoff had very few offspring due to poor fertility, so in 2004, when his first foal crop came of age to go to the Oldenburg Körung, great interest surrounded his two sons. Through good contacts, we had the opportunity to access this interesting young stallion on behalf of Harmony Sporthorses prior to the Körung. PSI's Daddy Cool and Davidoff Hit were both approved at the Körung, giving the next generation the opportunity to carry forth Don Davidoff's name. After the Körung, Davidoff Hit went on to Hengststation Pape, where Ingo and Susan Pape took on his preparation for the stallion performance testing. Some bad luck forced Davidoff to rest for a few months prior to the testing. He was not quite fit and strong in is work at the time the testing began, but the decision was made to send him anyway. While Davidoff Hit did not garner Class I status at his performance testing due to the bell curve of the outstanding test group, he achieved highlight scores of 9 on character, 8.5's on temperament, willingness to work, constitution, and rideability and an 8 on his walk. In February of 2006, Davidoff Hit was imported to the United States. He was bred to only a few test mares in his first season of breeding, which will allow us to see examples of his influence early in 2007. He readily secured pregnancy in all these mares. In training under Susanne Hassler, Davidoff was given the year to settle in and develop a good foundation with his new rider. We look forward to his debut in sport in 2007. His Heritage
Davidoff Hit's sire Don Davidoff was Champion at ages 3, 4, and 5. He was the 2000 Oldenburg Licensing Champion and German Young Horse Champion (Bundeschampion) under Heinz Jorg Wachter. He was acquired by Peformance Sales International and came under Dr. Ulf Möller to compete in the FEI World Breeding Championships for Young Horses. He readily secured the Gold Medal in the 5-year old division, beating the very successful stallions Diamond Hit (Germany) and Rubinrot (Sweden). He later secured the German National Champion title in the 5-year old Dressage horse division at the world's most competitive venue, the Bundeschampionat. After his successes as a 5-year old, Don Davidoff was sold for top Euro to Wilfried Bechtolsheimer of England, whose daughter Laura is quite prominent in the sport of dressage. Davidoff Hit's damsire Sandro Hit is easily one of the world's leading influences in the production of international dressage horses. Sandro Hit's success began at 6-years of age in 2001, when he won the Gold Medal at the FEI World Breeding Championships for Young Horses under Dr. Ulf Möller. His breeding career took off thereafter and, already, he has more than 65 licensed sons. His first foal crop produced ten licensed sons alone, in addition to the spectacular mare Poetin (Sandro Hit-Brentano II), who was frequently referred to as the most beautiful and talented dressage horse of this decade. Following her own Gold Medal win at the 2004 World Championships for Young Horses, Poetin was sold to the Netherlands for 2.5 million Euros at the PSI auction. Sandro Hit's dam Loretta produced other fantastic individuals including Diamond Hit (by Don Schufro) and premium Oldenburg stallion Royal Hit (by Royal Dance). Davidoff Hit's wealth of genetics continues further still into his motherline. His maternal granddam Fantastica produced Capuccinno 16 (by Classiker), Champion Grand Prix horse under Karin Rehbein, and also the PSI stallion Sunny Boy (by Sandro Hit). Fantastica is full-sister to the very famous stallion Don Schufro, leading producer on the FN's index of dressage sires since 2001 and 2004 Champion Grand Prix horse in Denmark. Fantastic and Don Schufro are out of the prized Oldenburg mare Fiesta (Pik Bube I-Unkenruf) whose progeny also include the Champion States Premium mare Fabina, winner of the Elite Oldenburg Mare Show in Rastede. Such proven, rideable offspring create the value of a motherline. Davidoff Hit bears many of Germany's finest. His Sport Career
